How to Set Up Adobe Express for Your Team

Set up Adobe Express Teams for a small business: choose a plan, share work in Projects, check AI and data policy, and try three first tasks.

By Andy Kang · Published · Updated ·Checked against official sources

Key takeaways

  • Adobe Express Teams is for teams of two or more and needs a 2 seat minimum.
  • Projects are shared spaces where invited people can edit or comment on the same files.
  • Teams plans include 250 generative credits per month, and the AI Assistant beta is not available on Teams plans.
  • Adobe says it does not train Firefly models on Creative Cloud subscribers' personal content.

By the end of this guide your team will have an Adobe Express Teams plan, a shared Project for each kind of work, and a short list of first tasks. Adobe Express is a design tool for social posts, flyers and short videos, so the aim is that anyone on staff can start from a shared file.

Before you start

Choose one person to own the Adobe account and buy the licenses. This person will handle billing and the list of users. Gather the work emails of everyone who needs a seat, because Adobe lists a 2 seat minimum for the Teams plan.

Adobe lists the business plans on its pricing page under the Businesses tab.

Plan What it adds for a team Price as listed
Free Basic tools and limited generative AI credits US$0.00
Premium (individual) More templates, assets and generative credits for one person US$9.99 per month
Teams Collaboration, security and 250 generative credits per month US$7.99 per license, with a first-year offer of US$4.99 per month per license
Enterprise Admin features for large teams Contact sales

Teams is an annual subscription billed monthly. The page says the first-year discount applies for the first year only. Check the page for the current numbers before you buy.

Create the account and workspace

  1. Open the pricing page and select the Businesses tab.
  2. Choose Adobe Express Teams and select Buy now.
  3. Follow Adobe’s checkout prompts with the owner’s Adobe account. Remember the 2 seat minimum.

Adobe’s pricing page does not describe the admin screens, so follow the prompts Adobe shows after purchase for assigning licenses.

Invite your team

Adobe’s guide to creating projects describes how to share work with people. Projects are shared spaces. Anything inside a project is available to the people you invite, and projects support folders and sub-folders.

  1. Open the Adobe Express homepage.
  2. Select Your stuff, then Projects, then New project.
  3. Type a project name and choose a color theme from the dropdown. Select Create.
  4. Add the email address of a collaborator.
  5. Set their access to Can edit or Can comment.
  6. Add an optional message and select Invite.

Make one project per area, such as Social, Print and Sales. That keeps sharing simple.

Set the admin and data settings

Check these items after the plan is active.

  • License list. Confirm each person who should have a seat is on the plan.
  • Project access. Review who has Can edit and who has Can comment on each project.
  • Generative credits. Teams includes 250 generative credits per month. Adobe’s pricing page marks the AI Assistant beta as not available on Teams plans.

On data, Adobe’s Firefly business page answers the question of whether customer content is used to train Firefly. Its answer is no, and it says Adobe does not train its Firefly generative AI models on any Creative Cloud or Adobe Experience Cloud subscribers’ personal content. The same page says Adobe trains its models only on content where it has permission or rights. It also says customers on qualifying plans are eligible for IP indemnification, with terms that apply. Ask your lawyer whether your plan qualifies before you rely on that.

Connect your other apps

Adobe’s pricing page lists these connections for Adobe Express.

  • Adobe apps. Integration with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Firefly, Acrobat and Lightroom.
  • AI assistants. Adobe Express is listed as integrated into Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini through add-on connectors.
  • File formats. Export Adobe Express designs as INDD or PSD files.

The page does not give setup steps for these, so use the links Adobe provides inside the product.

Tasks to try first

Create a shared project for the next campaign

This helps when several people need the same logo, photos and drafts in one place.

1. Adobe Express homepage > Your stuff > Projects > New project
2. Name it after the campaign, pick a color theme, select Create
3. Invite two teammates with Can edit
4. Invite your manager with Can comment
5. Add a folder named Drafts and a folder named Approved

Run a review round with comment-only access

This helps when an owner wants to approve work without changing it.

1. Open the project and invite the reviewer
2. Set access to Can comment
3. Ask them to leave comments on the draft
4. Move the final file into the Approved folder

Check your AI credit use

This helps when the team starts using generative features and you want to stay inside the plan. Teams includes 250 generative credits per month.

1. Pick two people to try generative features this week
2. Ask them to note which features they used
3. Review at the end of the week and decide who needs the features

Common problems

Adobe’s pricing page notes that billing begins when a free trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want to be charged.
